OUR STORY

We met on retreat while we were students at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY.  The next five years we would spend growing in love and faith while Chris completed Physician Assistant’s school and Beth completed her undergrad in History and Master’s in Theology.  We were married in 1996 at St. Agnes, in Avon, NY where Beth was the Director of Faith Formation and Youth Ministry.
Soon after our honeymoon, we moved to Maine for a new adventure! Over the next 3 years, our adventure would include a couple of moves, and 3 children in 11 months.  Feeling the need to be close to family, we moved back to NY in 2000.  We came back to the Greater Albany Area and since have been blessed with 3 more wonderful children.  You can see our individual ‘bios’ for our professional lives, but we found in Spring of 2007, God was calling us to something different.

We both quit our jobs, not knowing what God was developing for us next. Then we were nudged to propose doing an evening at the Dominican Retreat and Conference center.  We proposed a program, they accepted and suddenly, it was clear.  We went through all our old files just to see how many retreats we had done, individually and together, over the last 15 years.  Well, it numbered over 50.  So, we heard our name called “Living Hope,” we generated a retreat list, and here we are.

At that same point, Chris began his Masters of Divinity at St. Bernard's.  In Fall of 2007, St. Catherine’s in Albany took a risk, hiring us to present their Confirmation retreat. Soon after, The Evangelist  wrote our story.  Other parishes began to call.  We learned so very much those first months.  From summer 2007 to summer 2008 we presented 18 retreats, 14 parishes had us back in 2008/09.  Summer 2008 to Summer 2009, we have presented over 40 retreats and many trainings.  To double our ministry in a year has been such a blessing, and we are still growing.  This past summer, the North Country Catholic also did an article about us.

We have needed to bring in other presenters, like Eileen, Chris, Rick, and Joe to help share faith and fun with communities. We feel honored and privileged to be invited to share faith with communities. We attempt to make it as easy on the you as possible, bringing everything with us and offering to train teams in advance.  Please contact us if you would like to talk about how we can enhance the wonderful work you are already doing.

Peace and Prayers,

Beth and Chris
